Are you looking to build a strong career? Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Technician located in Tamaqua, PA.

The Facilities Technician plans and organizes equipment and facilities maintenance activities in accordance with approved plant procedures, processes and programs. Coordinates planned and emergency equipment repairs, schedules and manages contractors performing work to equipment and facilities. This position oversees all corrective equipment maintenance tasks, manages facility related projects and tasks, coordinates contractor work schedules and repairs.

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for:

• Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, and quality; resolving problems; completing time studies; identifying trends; implementing change.

• Support of plant operations on a wide variety of components, parts, equipment or systems.

• Prepare for and execute work assignments in accordance with approved procedures, and work orders, adhering to all safety requirements.

• Coordinate corrective equipment maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and effective planned repairs; strategize repair planning with production for quick flow restoration of equipment and scheduled long term solutions to minimize impact to production;; personally pursue solutions to significant equipment failures and drive equipment restoration; follow up on significant equipment failures to drill to root cause.

• Formulate facility preventative maintenance schedules for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of manufacturing and warehouse facilities, including but not limited to primary electrical supply, facility compressed air systems, HVAC and refrigeration systems, sewer/storm water, and overall grounds maintenance.

• Communicate an on-going status of work and address concerns to the management team.

• Participate in post-job debriefings providing lessons learned and suggest work practice improvements.

• Immediately report defects, deficiencies, or anomalies within the facility to supervision and follow the corrective action protocol.

• Provide management with recommendations for corrective actions, policies and process improvements.

• Accurately document work/performance history.

• Administer on-the-job-training (OJT) and task performance evaluations (TPE).

Job Requirements

To be considered for the Facilities Technician opportunity, candidates should possess:

• 2-4 years practical work experience in industrial facilities maintenance functions.

• HVAC certification preferred but not required

• Journeymen/certified electrician preferred but not required

• Project management

• Contractor management and/or experience as a contractor

• Writing technical specifications for equipment

• Supervisory experience

• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills (Root Cause analysis techniques required)

• Working knowledge of MS Project and CAD

• Mechanical aptitude required.

• Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.

• Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.

• Ability to be discreet with confidential information and sensitive issues.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

• Ability to determine cost and payback on projects and initiatives.

• Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
